I just started playing Pauper on MTGO and when I’m back home I’m playing homebrews with proxies with my friends.

I started playing when I was 15 and I'm 34 now. I took breaks all the time but I played standard during Lorwyn and Tmespiral and Innistrad. I had a decent sized collection from back when I was a kid and just casual trading. Anyway, during all this covid I finally went through everything I had. I grouped everything together to make the commander decks. I sold a ton of weird promo cards and other things of value to fill in the gaps. I already had 4 modern decks, but I was able to build more just selling and buying cards I needed.

I always play 8 rack in modern. I fucking love it and think it's hilarious. That said, it's a a control deck, and I like to be proactive mostly. I play jank too. Modern decks are- Jund, Burn (WR), Combo Elves (WBG)--deck is trash in the meta right now, because it loses to plague engineer but I keep it put together because it's old and mostly foil lol---Mono-white Death and Taxes, Soulflayer Surprise!(BRG manabase)----you'd be amazed at how often this jank wins----and Aether Vial zombies which at the moment is Black and Blue.

I've never played pauper but I think I might build something. I always try new formats. Commander has really become the only thing my friends want to play though.

Started sometime as a teenager as well and I’m 34 now, too. I was never at all serious about it, my friends and I just threw decks together and let them face off against each other without a clue or care what the pro decks were doing. Still have my collection back home (nothing serious), and it’s gonna be fun looking at that to see what potentially valuable cards I can dig up when I finally get to visit there.
Several months ago I started watching MTG related stream replays of online play on Youtube (mostly Reid Duke). Took me a while to begin figuring out wtf was going on, but it piqued my interest enough to finally download MTGO a couple weeks ago. I bought a Pauper deck (UB Delver) with tickets. Getting beat pretty badly in the tournament practice so far and I’m struggling to stay within the time limit, but I hope I can improve with time and maybe enter a league or something at some point.
I hear the supposed top deck in Modern (Uro Control) costs over a thousand bucks right now, so gonna be a while before I’ll even consider looking at Modern, lol.
